NGL had a post I drafted on the toilet this am, but it’s not ready to publish.
However I honor my commitments, so here are 10* 5 random things:
I helped rescue a baby sloth two weeks ago and it honestly is one of the highlights of my entire life. It also brought up an old traumatic memory, and I cried in the light of the scorpio full moon as I rode my bike home from the animal rescue center. It felt good to let a baby sloth make me cry so hard.
I am back stateside and have been going to the Borderline Skate Jam every night for the past 3 nights, which is partially** to blame why the draft isn’t ready. Skating from 11p-4a has been kicking my ass, but I’ve had an amazing time.
My knees. Oh my knees. Realized I’ve been gripping my legs too hard on my turns. My own resistance could cause an injury. Learning to let go and go with the flow. It is hard.
a poem i wrote in my half-sleep stupor after skating early into the morning:
I saw two moons last night
One hung low and fat in the sky
Bright orange and sliced in half, a broken dinner plate in the sky
Waning
The other a smokey grey
Far away
It’s Mother’s Day. Here’s me and mines:
*I had ambition to do 10, but the roller rink is calling me. Better luck next week.
**Also because I procrastinate.
